Abstract

Penelitian ini mencoba memberikan gambaran atribut dari sekolah agama yang menjadi motivasi dan harapan orang tua dalam memilih sekolah agama. Tujuan penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 bagian: (1) untuk mengetahui seberapa besar preferensi orang tua dalam memilih sekolah agama, (2) untuk mengetahui apakah preferensi itu dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pendidikan orang tua.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Responden penelitian ini adalah 148 orang tua yang dipilih dengan metode convenience sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner yang disebar secara online dengan google form. Analisis statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk tujuan penelitian yang pertama, dan tujuan penelitian kedua menggunakan analisis koefisien kontingensi.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) preferensi orang tua dalam memilih sekolah untuk anaknya dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, seperti: lokasi, kurikulum, guru, fasilitas pendidikan, biaya, dan pendidikan agama atau akhlak; 2) Sekolah agama Islam memiliki kelebihan yang menjadi pertimbangan utama bagi orang tua, namun terdapat beberapa tantangan yang perlu diatasi, seperti integrasi antara agama dan sains dalam kurikulum; dan 3) Tingkat pendidikan orang tua memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap preferensi dalam memilih sekolah untuk anak-anak mereka.
